And, we’ve also got the best German food and Gemütlichkeit! Our wide range of facilities not only creates a family-friendly environment, they also help us showcase our rich, German-American culture in San Antonio. From our Club Room bar, to our food line, and our souvenir store, there is something for everyone at Beethoven.
With two performance stages, shade from tall pecan trees, and table seating for hundreds of guests, the Beer Garden is the perfect spot for casual dining and imbibing. It’s the home of our annual Fiesta Gartenfest and Okboterfest. Also available for full or partial rental for private parties.
Gemütlichkeit means “comfort”, and our Halle Bar evokes the coziness of a genuine German Kniepe with its teraditional wooden bar and cabinetry, along wiht seating options and decor the celebrate our German heritage.
Our food line has all of the German favorites! Items on the daily menu include bratwurst, Reuben sandwiches, Leberkäse, Goulasch, Bavarian soft pretzels and grilled cheese (for kids or adults!) Occasional specials include Schnitzel and a fish fry. Our food line chefs and servers are volunteers; all of them have been trained to meet the highest standards and ensure that your meal is cooked to perfection.
Open during our Fiesta Gartenfest and Oktoberfest. If there’s a crowd at the food line, head on over if you’re hungry for just a bratwurst or a side order of potato salad.
Located in the “breezeway” between the Halle Bar and the rehearsal hall – adjacent to the restrooms! – the Beethoven Store offers a broad selection of German items, including glassware, hats, pins, t-shirts and seasonal specialties like Advent calendars and Lebkucken (gingerbread cookies).
Built by a Norwegian sea captain named Jens Olsen in the 1890s, this Victorian-era house was purchased from a descendant and generously donated to the Beethoven a century later by members Albert and Veronica Kuest. The second floor will be the future home of a museum featuring the history of our organization and German-Americans in San Antonio. The ground floor is the site of our German language classes. It is also available for private event rental.
Dedicated to the preservation of German songs, music, language, and culture in San Antonio, the Beethoven Männerchor is open to all people of all ages.
